What mattress size is best?
When deciding on the size of your mattress, be sure to keep in mind, select a mattress that gives you enough room for easy movement, especially if you're sleeping with a partner. Your mattress should be longer that the tallest person sleeping on it.
Twin
39" x 75"
Known as a single, twin sizes are most common for children's rooms,
daybeds, and trundle units.
Twin Extra Long
39" x 80"
A twin extra long is 5" longer than a standard twin. Generally used
in college dorms, the longer length from a twin XL is good for taller
people.
Full
54" x 75"
Known as a double, full sizes are the same length but 15" wider
than twin sizes. Being able to fit into smaller area, a full size
is a good option for guest rooms or as a step-up mattress for kids.
Full Extra Long
54" x 80"
A full extra long is a good option for taller people because it
is 5" longer that a standard full size.
Queen
60" x 80"
Queen sizes are the most common size of bedding and will be 6" wider
and 5" longer than a standard full size. This provides a better
fit for 2 adults.
King
76" x 80"
Also, known as an Eastern King, standard king sizes are the widest
bed available. King sizes are the same length but 16" wider than
a queen size. A standard king size set comes with one mattress and
two half-width box springs. This allows the set to fit into smaller
areas and be more manageable to move.
California King
72" x 84"
California King, also known as a Western King, is the longest bed
available at 84" long and is great for taller people. California
king sizes are 4” longer than standard king sizes and 4" less in
width.
